Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for South West Hertfordshire, Christopher Townsend has praised Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg for his performance in the first Prime Ministerial Debate on ITV.

Speaking this morning, Christopher Townsend said: "Nick came out the clear winner in last night's debate. He showed that the Liberal Democrats offer something different to the old politics of Tory-Labour. He set out our vision for a fair society and, importantly, he was honest with the studio audience and those watching at home.

"The positive reaction to Nick's performance proves that when people are shown what we're about they like what they see.

"In this general election we stand a good chance of winning in South West Herts and elsewhere but, of course, we will need to work for every single vote. I am going to push hard in the time that remains."
